WASHINGTON – Today, the House of Representatives resoundingly passed H.R. 2576, the Toxic Substances Control Modernization Act of 2015 (TSCA), by a vote of 398-1. The Blue Dog Coalition endorsed this bipartisan legislation as a commonsense reform of outdated regulations to improve chemical safety while boosting economic growth and innovation.

In 1994, when Republicans won the House for the first time in four decades, a band of fiscally conservative Democrats had a simple explanation: Their party had moved too far to the left.

In 2014, when Republicans shrunk Democratic numbers to their lowest since the end of World War II, a similar faction of fiscally conservative House Democrats came to a similar conclusion: The party's progressives weren't speaking to moderate voters.

WASHINGTON – The Co-Chairs of the fiscally responsible Blue Dog Coalition, Representatives Kurt Schrader (OR-05), Jim Cooper (TN-05), and Jim Costa (CA-16), today sent a letter to President Barack Obama urging him to sign legislation to grant approval of the Keystone XL Pipeline. The leaders of the coalition highlighted the positive economic impact of the project, and committed to provide strict oversight of construction and operation of the pipeline.

The fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition today endorsed the Regulatory Improvement Act, H.R. 4646. This bipartisan bill creates a commission to review outdated regulations in order to modify, consolidate or repeal existing regulations that discourage private sector growth and innovation.
