Former White House Communications Staffer Brooke Lillard Joins Blue Dog Coalition as Communications Director
Today, members of the fiscally responsible Blue Dog Coalition announced that Brooke Lillard has joined the Coalition's staff as Communications Director. In her official capacity, Lillard will be working directly with Blue Dog members and their staff to bring the bipartisan work that the Blue Dog Coalition is doing on behalf of the American public to the forefront of the larger political and policy conversations.
"Brooke brings strong experience in communications from her time at the White House, working for two leaders who served our country honorably," said Congressman Henry Cuellar, Blue Dog Coalition Co-Chair for Communications. "She will be a valuable part of the Coalition going forward, and I'm excited to welcome her to the team."
"I am honored and thrilled to be working for the Blue Dog Coalition at such a consequential time in our nation's history," Lillard said. "Now more than ever, we need leaders who are willing to transcend party lines to do what's best for the American people. The members of the Blue Dog Coalition embody this principle, and I believe it is crucial to bring their important work to the attention of the country."
Prior to her work with the Blue Dog Coalition, Lillard served several years at the White House, working in various roles on staff for both President Barack Obama and Vice President Joe Biden. Most recently, she served on President Obama's communications team as Deputy Director of Broadcast Media. Before that, she served as Special Assistant to Shailagh Murray, President Obama's Senior Advisor for Strategic Communications, and she served as Vice President Biden's Director of Correspondence.
Lillard is a native of Memphis, Tennessee, and a graduate of Indiana University-Bloomington.
