WASHINGTON – Today, the co-chairs of the fiscally responsible Blue Dog Coalition—Reps. Jim Costa (D-CA), Henry Cuellar (D-TX), and Dan Lipinski (D-IL)—issued the following statement regarding the Continuing Resolution to keep the government open:
"Since the founding of the Blue Dog Coalition, together, we have called for responsible governance. This includes keeping the government open and fully-functioning. We cannot continue to operate deadline-to-deadline, creating self-inflicted crises along the way.
Today, members of the fiscally responsible Blue Dog Coalition announced that Brooke Lillard has joined the Coalition's staff as Communications Director. In her official capacity, Lillard will be working directly with Blue Dog members and their staff to bring the bipartisan work that the Blue Dog Coalition is doing on behalf of the American public to the forefront of the larger political and policy conversations.

Today, the Democratic Blue Dog Coalition endorsed the Lower Drug Costs Through Competition Act, which was introduced by Blue Dog Congressman Kurt Schrader (D-OR) and Congressman Gus Bilirakis (R-FL) last week.
Today, the Blue Dog Coalition endorsed the Taxpayers' Right to Know Act which passed in the House by voice vote. The bipartisan bill was spearheaded by Blue Dog Congressman Jim Cooper (TN-5), and a version of the bill passed the House unanimously last year. Under the bill, every federal agency will be required to publish an annual report card for each of its programs.
Washington – Today, while the House Oversight Committee holds a bipartisan hearing with officials from Mylan, titled “Reviewing the Rising Price of EpiPens,” the Blue Dog Coalition endorsed a bill that could prevent dramatic price hikes like that of the EpiPen. H.R. 4784, the Lower Drug Costs Through Competition Act helps streamline the FDA approval process on generic drugs, and encourages competition by providing incentives for more generics to come to the market.
WASHINGTON – As the House of Representatives takes up debate this week on H.R. 2576, the TSCA Modernization Act, the Blue Dogs announced their endorsement of the legislation.
WASHINGTON – Today the Blue Dog Coalition announced their support for H.R. 4038, the American Security Against Foreign Enemies (SAFE) Act of 2015, as currently drafted. The bill simply adds Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) review and unanimous agreement between the Department of Homeland Security, FBI, and the Director of National Intelligence before refugees from Iraq and Syria are admitted to the United States.
WASHINGTON – The Blue Dog Coalition overwhelmingly supports H.R. 1737, the Reforming the CFBP Indirect Auto Financing Guidance Act. The bill seeks to fix a problematic Consumer Financial Protection Bureau (CFPB) policy that would make it difficult for auto dealers to discount interest rates for their customers. As most consumers obtain financing credit through their car dealers, this policy could decrease competition and increase costs, hurting, rather than helping, consumers.
