House leadership intends to consider this bill on the House floor this week as part of a recent negotiation tied to a previous vote increasing the debt ceiling.

WASHINGTON—Today, Blue Dog leadership expressed its support for a vote on a bipartisan resolution that would require an annual fiscal state of the nation be presented to Congress. The resolution, H.Con.Res. 44, authored by Rep. Kathleen Rice, D-N.Y., would require the Comptroller General to present a "Financial Report of the United States Government" to an annual joint hearing of the House and Senate Budget Committees, open to all Members of Congress.
