Blue Dog Coalition Endorses Bipartisan Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act

June 8, 2022

WASHINGTON—The Co-Chairs of the Blue Dog Coalition—Reps. Tom O'Halleran (AZ-01), Ed Case (HI-01), Stephanie Murphy (FL-07), and Kurt Schrader (OR-05)—issued the following statement endorsing the Daniel Anderl Judicial Security and Privacy Act of 2021, a bipartisan, bicameral bill that would protect federal judges and their families by safeguarding their personally identifiable information. The bill was introduced by Blue Dog member Rep. Mikie Sherrill (D-NJ) and Rep. Brian Fitzpatrick (R-PA) in the House, and by a bipartisan group of Members in the Senate:

"This bipartisan, bicameral legislation will bolster our ability to protect our nation's federal judges and their families. No judge should live in fear that their public service will make them and their family a target of violence. Following the tragic murder of Daniel Anderl, the son of a federal judge, it's past time for Congress to act to prevent such horrific events from ever happening again."
