WASHINGTON—Today, President Trump announced he would proceed with a deal proposed by the Blue Dog Coalition to reopen the government and then hold a substantive, bipartisan, and bicameral discussion on border security that would produce legislation to quickly pass both chambers of Congress, ideally with a veto-proof majority. WASHINGTON—Today, the House passed H. Res. 6, A Resolution Providing for the House Rules of the 116th Congress, which included a measure restoring the bipartisan Pay-As-You-Go (PAYGO) rules. PAYGO requires that both mandatory spending and tax cuts must be offset to prevent increasing the national debt. The last time PAYGO was in place was 2010, when the Blue Dog Coalition worked with Democratic Leadership to restore the rules to ensure the government does not spend beyond its means.

WASHINGTON—Yesterday, the House passed the Farm Bill Conference Report to accompany H.R. 2, Agriculture Improvement Act of 2018. Under the leadership of longtime member of the Blue Dog Coalition and Ranking Member of the House Agriculture Committee, Rep. Collin Peterson (MN-07), Republican and Democratic members came together as the 2018 Farm Bill Conference Committee to develop a bipartisan Farm Bill.

WASHINGTON—Today, the Blue Dog Coalition announced that Representative-Elect Anthony Brindisi (NY-22) will be a member of the Coalition's leadership team as the Co-Chair for Whip. The Co-Chair for Whip will serve alongside the other Co-Chairs to help lead the Blue Dog Coalition in the fight to restore the American Dream and put our country on the path to prosperity.
