WASHINGTON—Today, the Blue Dog Coalition, which focuses on issues related to fiscal responsibility and national security, announced its endorsement of H.R. 2483, Fentanyl Sanctions Act. This legislation would apply pressure on the Chinese government to honor its commitment to make all forms of fentanyl illegal and provide the United States more tools and resources to go after illicit traffickers in China, Mexico, and other countries. H.R. 1 included several Blue Dog Coalition priorities, such as securing our elections, redistricting reform, increasing transparency on Presidential Inaugural Committee (PIC) funding, and increasing oversight to prevent government leaders from misusing tax dollars on lavish flights and unnecessary military air travel.

The legislation, written by Blue Dog Congresswoman Kyrsten Sinema (D-AZ), establishes a whole-of-government strategy to combat the financing of terrorism.
