Katie Campbell to join Blue Dog Coalition staff as Policy Director

March 1, 2011
Today members of the fiscally conservative Blue Dog Coalition announced that Katie Campbell will join the Coalition's staff as Blue Dog Policy Director. In her official capacity, Campbell will be working directly with Blue Dog members and staff, including the Coalition Task Forces, to promote Blue Dog legislative priorities.

"Katie has a ton of experience working on policies that reflect the Blue Dogs core priorities: fiscal discipline, economic growth, and regulatory reform," said Congressman John Barrow, Blue Dog Co-Chair for Policy. "She is going to be an invaluable part of the Blue Dog team moving forward, and I'm extremely excited to welcome her aboard."

"I am thrilled to be working for the Blue Dog Coalition at such an important time," said Campbell. "Now more than ever, we need common sense voices in Congress. The Blue Dogs will be pivotal in bringing members from both sides of the aisle to the table and moderating the debate in Washington."

Prior to her work with the Blue Dog Coalition, Campbell served as a professional staff member to U.S. Congressman John Dingell on the House Committee on Energy and Commerce, and as a policy analyst at the Democratic Leadership Council.

The fiscally conservative Democratic Blue Dog Coalition was formed in 1995 with the goal of representing the center of the House of Representatives and appealing to the mainstream values of the American public. The Blue Dogs are dedicated to a core set of beliefs that transcend partisan politics, including a deep commitment to the financial stability and national security of the United States. Currently there are 25 members of the Blue Dog Coalition.
