House Blue Dogs Endorse Bills to Support Local Law Enforcement During National Police Week

May 14, 2026

WASHINGTON D.C. — In conjunction with National Police Week, the Blue Dog Coalition issued the following statement endorsing a slate of bills focused on safeguarding our communities including H.R.1551 - Protect and Serve Act of 2025, H.R.2094 - HELPER Act of 2025, and H.R.2711 - Invest to Protect Act of 2025:

“During National Police Week, law enforcement officers from across the country – from Centralia, Washington, to Brownsville, Texas – gather in our nation’s capital to honor those who made the ultimate sacrifice and those who continue to serve with courage every day. Law enforcement officers put their lives on the line to protect our families and communities, and we honor them by ensuring they have the tools needed to do their jobs safely and effectively. These bills help make that happen by combating violence against police, helping officers live in the communities they serve, and supporting smaller departments. We thank the law enforcement officers who dedicate their lives to protecting us and our families.”

These bills are also endorsed by the Fraternal Order of Police, the National Association of Police Organizations, the Federal Law Enforcement Officers Association, and the National Sheriffs’ Association.
